Hyatt Rosemont hotel being sold

The Hyatt Rosemont hotel is being sold to a still-undisclosed firm that will maintain operations as a hotel, though it's unknown if hotel brand flags are changing, village officials said.

Mayor Brad Stephens said this week a closing on the sale is scheduled for March 17. The company that manages the hotel has a ground lease for the building, which sits on village-owned land at 6350 N. River Road, and 200 spaces in a nearby village parking garage.

The village board approved a plan last year to spend $3.7 million to expand that garage with 180 more spaces.
