I have strong leadership skills with a goal to work for a better tomorrow.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Our City counsel has done a great judiciary responsibility of the city's portion of our property tax. I would like to maintain that at 12,75% of the total property taxShould city elected officials receive city-funded health insurance benefits? Do you receive the benefits now? Would you accept them if elected?I believe that city elected officials should be able to choose to receive city funded health benefits due to the fact that they provide services and time with very little benefit. Compare the pay and benefit structure that is provide for the alderman from the City of Chicago and other surrounding City and . I currently do not receive any benefits from the city but will if needed.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?I believe that any stone should not be unturned when it come to budgets and spending. If it does not make sense then it needs a closer look at all avenues. All set budgets should be met.Do you support a plan to commit city dollars, along with Rivers Casino, to acquire and renovate the shuttered Des Plaines Theatre, then hire an event planner to book concerts and shows?I do believe that Des Plaines Theatre is a piece of history to the City of Des Plaines. I would love for it to stay but it would have to make sense and not cost city tax payers any money to run it. Perhaps we could look in a private developer.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?I would love to create and get more small businesses open in our community as well as more commercial business development due to it's higher tax body.
