Original Board Member of Libertyville Civic Center.Elected offices held: Current Trustee Village of Libertyville.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?My experience as a Trustee in the Village of Libertyville, as well as serving as Vice President of Operations at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for 26 years.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Local sales and property taxes are adequate to sustain the community. Libertyville has the advantage of several auto dealers and restaurants which provides the sales tax. Property taxes are also adequate.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?I would rate the police and fire coverage as excellent. Both the police and fire chiefs are highly experienced professionals, who have provided their departments with the leadership, staff and equipment to complete their missions successfully. I have no public safety concerns.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The current annual budget has sufficient funds to accomplish the Village's goals. There is an ongoing review of the annual budget and changes are made as circumstances change.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Improving the way we communicate Events and Activities within the Village.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Continue to support our local businesses while supplying services for residents.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.John McCain, his patriotism and leadership have always inspired me, along with his common sense approach to solving problems.What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Being respectful to all, while always striving to improve your life.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Taking care of my physical health, through diet and exercise.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?History, as it often repeats itself, can be an excellent teacher.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Be yourself.
