Listening to our residents concerns and ideas on Village improvements, and having an open and honest dialog is also important me.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The current fiscal policies within the Village of Deer Park are excellent. No new taxes are required, as the current funding resources are sufficient.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?The Village of Deer Park utilizes the Lake County Sheriff's office for police protection, which is excellent. The current fire districts that cover Deer Park are also excellent. The only concern is the potential movement via rail of toxic chemicals by CN railroads. This will need to be monitored, and assurance that track maintenance is being performed on a regular basis.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The budgets for Deer Park are well planned out, and are focused on infrastructure maintenance including roads, park improvements, and water drainage. Budgets are adjusted each year based upon priorities as set by residents via resident surveys, and by the Board of Trustees.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Deer Park has multiple ponds throughout the Village. The water from these ponds migrates to multiple water basins. In the future, the Village will need to address ongoing maintenance requirements with the local neighborhoods, the Army Corp of Engineers, and local agencies,What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Candidate did not respond.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.There is no one current world leaders that truly inspire me, but the one person who had always inspired me was my dad.What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Work Ethics. Honesty. Listening is an important virtue. Believe in yourself. Help your neighbors. Apply yourself to whatever you are doing.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Through the ups and downs of life, I have learned a lot. I wouldn't change a thing.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Marketing, because it trained me to listen, observe, think and then develop and present ideas and plans that would appeal to others.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Understand what you like and want in life, work hard at it, and you will succeed.
