The Trustee position is another step in that service and will give the community a new voice on difficult issues.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.Taxation should be appropriate for the services provided by the local government. The services should be efficient and offer value that couldn't be obtained less expensively without the governing body.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?The police and fire departments are well equipped and maintain excellent coverage in the community.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?The current budget does not cover the costs of our small government without borrowing from our reserve. Small town issues of aging infrastructure and expansion/contraction of the tax base confound the budget. Every part of the budget should be examined to ensure that we can both balance the current spending and accumulate money for large upkeep projects and economic downturns.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Using technology to increase community safety. I believe studying the use of drones in both police and fire protection work has the opportunity to provide a higher level of safety for our community with lower costs.
