How has the village handled that balancing act so far, and how would you improve/maintain that situation?Currently, the village has 7 TIF and 3 BDD Districts. These yield enough revenue to help with infrastructure improvements and maintenance. Some of these dollars can also be used to attract new and existing businesses. Because of this revenue, demands made on village departments can be met and the village share of property taxes remains stable. The village in recent years has taken some significant steps in terms of economic activity. What, if anything, is currently lacking in the village's economic portfolio, and how do you envision your community developing economically over the next four years? Most municipalities rely heavily on sales tax income. East Dundee's marketing efforts and support of its businesses today will continue to benefit us in the near future.Describe your ideas for improving or developing the downtown. What steps can the village take to support the downtown businesses and bring more people to the area?Try and develop the riverfront area. If this is economically feasible, coordinate any riverfront events with those downtown. Also, try and have more housing in and near downtown so the folks who live there can patronize our downtown businesses.Where in the village's budget, if anywhere, could expenses be trimmed? And on the other hand, should the budget allot more money toward any particular area, service or village department?I would like to see more money allocated to marketing the village which will create greater economic development. From what I see online regarding village departments demands, I think each department is adequately funded. I also feel that a rainy day fund should be established. What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?As more housing is built in the Village, this has brought more children to town. I would like to see safer walk ways and more sidewalks. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Keeping the Village from implementing huge utility hikes. If hikes are needed, keep them in smaller increments. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bernie SandersWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?HonestyIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?go to college soonerWhat was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?art, helped me think outside the boxIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Do what makes you happy.
