I remain politically active in Kane county.Elected offices held: Candidate did not respond.Questions Answers What makes you the best candidate for the job?As a mother with school age children, I will represent the interests of families raising children in our community.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.The current taxes are adequate to support necessary services and maintain property values. I am concerned about the tax burden on senior citizens living on fixed incomes.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?The crime rate for Sugar Grove is below the national average and response times for emergency services are satisfactory. I am concerned about the establishment of the recent tax increment financing (TIF) and its impact on funding for local taxing bodies.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?I would cut programs such as tax increment financing (TIF) which drains the community of finances. I will work with the state to improve the appearance of medians on rt 47. When elected, I pledge to further look into ways to improve efficiency and raise service levels for village residents.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?In order to maintain the unique nature of our community, I will promote and encourage the development of small independent businesses.
