Grayslake named Tree City USA for 23rd time

Grayslake has been recognized as a Tree City USA for the 23rd consecutive year by the Arbor Day Foundation, in recognition of the village's community forestry program.

"The village is proud to be a recipient of this award for the 23rd consecutive time," Mayor Rhett Taylor said.

In addition to village resources used to maintain its trees, the village supports property owners planting trees on their land. Last year, 62 new trees were planted in Grayslake through the village's tree replacement program.
