Boltz to Reject Public Pension

Downers Grove Township Assessor Candidate Greg Boltz, CPA, announced today that if elected he will reject a taxpayer-funded public pension.

"I'm running for Assessor to serve my fellow residents in a fair and transparent manner," said Boltz. "I'm not doing this to get retirement benefits that would be paid for by my neighbors. That's why I have committed to decline the public pension."

Greg Boltz is a CPA and Certified Illinois Assessing Officer with more than 30 years of financial and real estate experience. He is running for the open Downers Grove Township Assessor position in the April 4, 2017, consolidated elections and has pledged to run a fair, transparent, and accessible office for taxpayers.

"Our state, and some local governments, are in serious trouble due to underfunded pension liabilities," explained Boltz. "I believe it is critical not just to talk about these problems, but to lead by example and not participate in the pension system."

The Downers Grove Township Assessor is a full-time position leading an office of over 10 staff members who determine the valuation of all properties in Downers Grove Township for purposes of tax assessments.
