Boating safety course to be offered March 18
The Kane County Forest Preserve Police will sponsor a boating safety education training course, offered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
This beginner boating course will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a boat license or safety certification in many states. The course is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the forest preserve district headquarters, 1996 S. Kirk Road, Geneva. The class will be held on the third floor of the building.
Topics include: basic boating safety; equipment and requirements; motorboat registration and titling; navigation; basic maintenance; emergency measures; and Illinois boating laws.
