A Prospect Heights letter to the editor: Thank you Doug Eden for what seems to be an invitation for a counter view. "Hijab day, Really?"

Thank you Doug Eden for what seems to be an invitation for a counter view. "Hijab day, Really?"

Almost all Muslims I've met had an excellent command of the English language, had a higher education level than me and cared about the environment around them. I wouldn't be afraid of women wearing hijabs anymore than traditional Catholic sisters wearing a habit or women wearing a kippot. I encourage you to talk openly about your fears. I'll even admit this publicly: Men wearing turbans used to put me on edge. It took an act of tragedy for me to talk to them. The Sikhs I met treated us graciously in spiritual practice. Lastly, and I want you to think about this. What would happen if, heaven forbid, you or someone you love needs emergency care and the doctor is wearing a hijab?
