Twitter troll takes over lawmaker's handle, demands apology
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indiana lawmaker is being publicly trolled by a Twitter user who took over his abandoned account to demand an apology.
But Republican Rep. Ed Soliday of Valparaiso tells The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/2myxTuB) that isn't likely because he won't "give in to terrorists."
Trouble started after Soliday got in an online spat last month with Indiana tech company CEO and philanthropist Don Brown.
Brown tweeted a Soliday-sponsored measure was "stupid" because it would effectively bar electric car maker Tesla from selling vehicles in Indiana. Soliday tweeted back, "Not nearly as stupid as you are!!!!" Then he deleted his account.
Now his Twitter handle @RepSoliday has been taken over by an unknown person who says the real Soliday can have it back if he makes a "public, genuine" apology to Brown.
