Share 'Tea with Mamie Eisenhower' in Arlington Heights
The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will present a program titled "Tea with Mamie Eisenhower" at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, in the Historic Banta House, a part of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 517 Vail St.
Portrayed by Ellie Carlson, Mamie will relate her life as President Dwight Eisenhower's wife, our first lady and "just a good friend." She also was an Army wife, mother and grandmother, and will tell stories about her role as all four.
Learn from Mamie about living in Panama and the Philippines between the world wars and about her loving relationship with Ike, which weathered horrible rumors and long separations.
Mamie didn't really cook, but she did make some amazing fudge which Ellie has promised to bring along. Light refreshments will be served.
Tickets are $25, $20 for historical society members. For reservations, call the museum at (847) 255-1225 or go online and register at https://apm.activecommunities.com/ahpd. The last day to register for this program will be Tuesday, March 14.
