Man sought in strangulation death of Chicago-area lawyer
NORTHBROOK, Ill. (AP) - Police say they are searching for a man who's been charged with the strangulation death of a lawyer in his suburban Chicago office three months ago.
Northbrook police says an arrest warrant was issued for 50-year-old John G. Panaligan of Aurora. He's charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jigar Patel, who was found dead on Dec. 7.
Police said Monday that Patel was the attorney suing a health care business owned by Panaligan. Police officials say they're working with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Panaligan.
Authorities previously released two surveillance images of a person in trenchcoat and hat holding a cane in the office building the same day Patel's body was discovered.
