Enjoy 'Tea with Mamie Eisenhower'

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum will present a program titled "Tea with Mamie Eisenhower" in the Historic Banta House, a part of the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 517 Vail St., at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18.

Visit with Mamie, portrayed by Ellie Carlson, as she relates her life as Ike's wife, our first lady, and "just a good friend."

Mamie was America's beloved first lady from 1953 until 1961 - she was also an army wife, mother and grandmother, and will tell stories about her role as all four. Learn from Mamie about living in Panama and the Philippines between the World Wars and about her loving relationship with Ike, which weathered horrible rumors and long separations.

Mamie didn't really cook, but she did make amazing fudge, which Ellie has promised to bring along.

Tickets are $25; $20 for historical society members.

For reservations, call the museum at (847) 255-1225 or register at https://apm.activecommunities.com/ahpd. The last day to register for this program will be Tuesday, March 14.
