District 54 preschool students get hands-on experiences during visit to Operations and Maintenance Department

Students from District 54's Early Learning Center had a wonderful time visiting the District 54 Operations and Maintenance Department last month. Transportation was the theme for February, and the staff did an excellent job of connecting their work to the students' learning. The students were able to explore and compare the six different types of vehicles, ask questions and sit inside the machines. The maintenance staff explained how the machines operate, how the staff use them and the purpose of each vehicle. The students were mesmerized by how big the machines were when they sat inside. The ELC staff and students appreciated the wonderful hands-on learning opportunity.
