No one injured in Palatine house fire

Palatine Fire Department officials reported no injuries resulted from a fire reported at 9:32 p.m. Friday at a two-story, single-family home on the 700 block of North Bon Aire Drive.

Fire crews arrived about 9:37 p.m. to combat the fire, which was confined to the first-floor living room, according to a fire department news release.

Smoke detectors alerted the homeowner, who exited the house and called 911 from her cellphone, according to the news release.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within 10 minutes, officials said.

Damage, which was limited mostly to the living room, included smoke damage to the first floor.

The cost of the damage was not available Saturday afternoon and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, said battalion chief Anthony Lavacchi.
