Rolling Meadows puppet opera gets national TV exposure

A national cable television show will profile Rolling Meadows' puppet opera production Opera in Focus in an episode that airs Monday, March 6.

"Strange Inheritance," at 8 p.m. on the Fox Business Network, will feature interviews with brothers Justin and Shayne Synder, who in 2006 inherited the opera house from Bill Fosser upon his passing. The brothers, who had worked at the opera house, faced plummeting attendance and the opera house flooding after a storm in 2011, but were able to bring the operation back to life.

Opera performances are held Wednesday and Saturday afternoons at the Rolling Meadows Park District Theater, 3000 Central Road.
