Boy stabbed at Waukegan grocery store
A teenage boy went to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries Wednesday after he was stabbed during a fight at a Waukegan grocery store.
Police have one person in custody and believe the attack was a random act of violence, authorities said in a news release Wednesday night.
The fight broke out about 7:45 p.m. at Super Fresh Market on the 1700 block of North Lewis Avenue.
Based on descriptions from witnesses, police said they found the suspect with a pocketknife behind a business on the 1500 block of North Lewis Avenue.
Two teenage boys sustained minor injuries and took themselves to a nearby hospital, according to the news release. Only one of the boys was stabbed, authorities said.
Waukegan police were not immediately available to comment.
