Teen shot in leg in Round Lake Beach

Round Lake Beach police are investigating a shooting Monday night that left a 15-year-old boy injured, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Meadow Green Lane at 9:41 p.m. Monday for a report of shots fired, Round Lake Beach police said in a news release Tuesday.

Responding officers found the teen who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

A preliminary investigation shows the shooting was a result of an argument and there is no further risk to area residents, authorities said. There was no immediate word of arrests or suspects in custody.
