Foundation gives Salute Inc. $9,000 grant

The Million Dollar Round Table Foundation awarded a $9,000 grant to Palatine-based Salute, Inc.

The grant will help support Salute's Emergency Financial Assistance Program, which provides financial assistance to military members/veterans and their families experiencing financial difficulties brought on by deployment, extended active duty or injury.

Through its global grants programs, the MDRT Foundation is committed to building stronger families and communities around the globe. This year, the MDRT Foundation will award more than $1 million in MDRT member-endorsed grants to more than 200 charitable organizations worldwide.

Representing the MDRT Foundation, Curtis Matlin presented the grant to Salute, Inc. Feb. 18 during its annual fundraising event at Meridian Banquet and Conference Center. Matlin, a Wilmette resident, is an active longtime supporter and board member.

Salute, Inc. passionately pursues meeting the financial, physical and emotional needs of military service members, veterans and their families.

They strive to raise awareness of their sacrifices and provide a safety net to ensure every military family is treated with honor and dignity. The transition to civilian life is often difficult, especially where there is injury.
