Former Oakwood Hills man faces child porn charges

A former Oakwood Hills man faces felony charges after police traced downloaded child pornography to the 50-year-old's computer, officials say.

Robert T. Rado was arrested Sunday at an apartment complex in Rochelle. In 2015, members of the McHenry County sheriff's office learned child pornography was being downloaded from a home in the 5800 block of Greenview Road in Oakwood Hills.

With the use of a search warrant, officers collected Rado's electronic devices, including a computer on which they found child pornography. Rado told authorities he downloaded pornographic files involving children, according to a news release.

He remained at the McHenry County jail Tuesday on a $50,000 bond. He is due back in court Thursday.
