EmpoweRun 5K to raise money to fight domestic violence in Lake County

A Safe Place will host the EmpoweRun 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Independence Grove Forest Preserve on Route 137 east of Libertyville.

The organization is Lake County's sole provider of services exclusively focused on domestic violence victims and their children. Runners are encouraged to collect pledges to help reach the $65,000 fundraising goal.
