Feldco parent buys garage builder, chimney cleaner
The parent company of Des Plaines-based Feldco, a provider of windows, doors and siding, said Tuesday that it bought Danley's Garage World of Northbrook and Early Times Home Solutions in Elmhurst.
Terms of the deal and the name of the privately held parent company were not disclosed.
Danley's and Early Times will continue to operate as stand-alone companies with their own brand names and workforces. Danley's has 45 employees and Early Times has 35 employees.
"There will be no changes in the workforces," said Jeanette Fair, a spokeswoman for the parent company. "In fact, we're looking to add more workers."
Feldco has been serving city and suburban customers for more than 40 years with factory-direct windows, siding and doors. Feldco has 200 employees and eight locations in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Peoria, Illinois; Davenport, Iowa; and Cudahy, Madison and Menasha, Wisconsin. It was named America's No. 1 window and door company by Window and Door Magazine twice in the last decade.
Doug Cook is president and CEO of the company, and received a Daily Herald Business Ledger Entrepreneurial Excellence Award in 2011. He acquired Feldco in 2000, after becoming interested in entrepreneurship while attending the Kellogg School of Management.
Danley's, founded in 1959, has built more than 100,000 custom garages throughout the suburban area.
"For over a half-century, Danley's has employed a highly successful formula for serving its customers. We plan to continue providing the same superior level of custom quality and service to our customers," Greg Gibson, president of Danley's Garage World, said in a statement.
Early Times Home Solutions, established in 1985, provides chimney cleaning, repair and other related services to homeowners in the Chicago area.
"After celebrating our 30th anniversary recently, Early Times Home Solutions looks forward to building upon our commitment to keeping Chicagoland homes clean and safe," said Jeff Bott, general manager at Early Times Home Solutions.
