Fitness center is hosting first indoor triathlon

Register now for the inaugural indoor triathlon at Good Shepherd Hospital's Health and Fitness Center.

Held at the area's premier fitness facility, the triathlon will feature a 25-yard indoor lap pool, top-quality Keiser Spin Bikes and an air cushioned indoor running track. The event is open to those ages 12 and older, everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes are welcome.

There will be all the elements of an outdoor triathlon - wave starts, adrenaline rushes, volunteer support, cheering fans and post-race awards and celebrations.

The race format will be a 10-minute swim, 20-minute bike and 15-minute run, with timed transitions between each leg of the race.

The participant with the greatest total distance in the combined three events will be the winner. A volunteer will be assigned to each participant to track and record their distance.

Registration is now open at www.active.com. The cost for each participant is $40, and this includes a tote bag, biking water bottle and silicone swim cap. The event will be capped at 100 participants, so don't wait to register.

Light refreshments provided post-race, along with medals and age group and overall winners.
