Visual and Video Student/Emerging Artists must submit their work electronically to ArtistLiaison@StCharlesArtsCouncil.org. There is no form to fill out. Simply send an email with the following:
An image of each piece of work submitted, the title, and the medium. Or, in the case of video, an electronic location where the work can be viewed.
Artists may submit up to five pieces of their work.
All submitted work MUST include the artist's name, physical address, phone number, and school attended. Students may attend any school, including out of state schools.
Entries for the gallery can be in any style or medium of visual art, as well as video.
All submissions are due to the SCAC by end-of-day, Thursday, Feb. 16.
All electronic submissions will be reviewed and the council will contact artists with further information about the gallery by Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Any questions about this event may be directed to the St Charles Arts Council at (630) 443-3794 or at ArtistLiaison@StChartsArtsCouncil.org.
Pop Up Arts is a very successful initiative of the St Charles Arts Council. This gallery will be the 20th Pop Up, and the fifth exclusively for Student/Emerging Artists. They encourage students to submit work that can be sold. One hundred percent of the selling price of the work goes to the artist. The galleries are actively promoted in social and print media, and the artwork is insured.
Images must be submitted by midnight Thursday, Feb. 16.
Receipt of work must be done from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 5, and 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 6. Work should be delivered to 7 S. Second Ave., St. Charles.
The gallery will be staffed by volunteers. Anyone interested in Volunteering to "sit" the gallery should call the SCAC at (630) 443-3794 or emailed to Volunteer@StCharlesArtsCouncil.org.
All artwork must be ready to hang/install. Sculpture pedestals/stands must be provided by the artist. Delivery and pick-up of the artwork will be the artist's responsibility. Information about preparing 2D hanging work will be supplied by the arts council.
The St. Charles Arts Council sends thanks to Wendell Clancy, the building owner for the use of the space.
