Hearts of Gold sets right tone for village

On Feb. 18 at Rolling Green Country Club we will honor and recognize the 2017 Arlington Heights Hearts of Gold recipients and we will see a snapshot of those who set the tone in what makes our village the great place it is.

Each year we are amazed, quite proud, and sincerely thankful of those folks who go above and beyond in doing the things they do for our community.

As we recognize the current group of Hearts of Gold winners, we think it's appropriate to reflect on some past winners like Fr. Bill Zavaski, Diana and Larry Koss, Kate Costello, Carl Laub, Nancy and Pat Moroney, Jim Bertucci, Russ Talbot, Carol Golemo, Glueckert Family Funeral Home, Steven Patzke and Wayne Arden.

We mention these folks because each of them has played a role in touching our community in many ways, and for many years, setting the example and road map of how each of us can make a difference and create positive opportunities for others.

And that's why we recognize folks each year with these awards, to set the example and give a road map for others to follow in forging positive change, touching lives, and making a difference.

We are thankful again for all our Hearts of Gold recipients, current and past, and want to send the message that each of you have not just touched lives, but have also motivated and challenged others to step out of their comfort zones and do those things to continue making our community the great place it is today.

Congratulations and thank you again for all each of you do!
