Besties Girls Spa opens in Geneva Commons

You may start to notice more little girls all dolled up in fancy hair, sparkling makeup and pretty polished hands shopping at the Geneva Commons mall.

If so, they've likely just come from a spa day at the newly opened Besties Girls Spa in the Randall Road mall.

The new business, which is next to Claire's Boutique, held its grand opening at the mall this month.

Previously, Besties was on Dean Street in St. Charles for several months.

Owner Daca Pavlovic jumped at the chance to relocate her business to Geneva Commons, saying it was the perfect location for the spa, which caters to girls ages 3 to 18.

"I've always wanted to be in Geneva Commons. I think it's perfect," Pavlovic said. "The girls are always walking around the mall shopping and it's just a fun atmosphere at the mall and I think we will fit in perfectly."

Pavlovic said Besties is a unique spa that caters to young girls who want to indulge themselves.

Pavlovic has five children - four boys and one girl.

She said when she wanted to take her little girl to get her nails done anywhere or to have any spa services done, she could never find anything age-appropriate.

Not finding what she wanted, she decided to open her own business instead, catering to girls like her daughter who love to be pampered.

"After having all of these ideas for the place and thinking about it and researching it and the products and everything we wanted to do, I'm just really excited it's open. This place puts a smile on these girls' faces and they love it," Pavlovic said.

The name for the business came from her daughter, she said, who is always looking for a best friend to do something fun with.

At the new spa, she said, girls can hang out and have fun together with the age-appropriate services, which include manicures, pedicures, polishes, face masks, makeup and fancy new hairstyles.

People can come individually, or they can also set up private parties for their girls, she said. It is a great place for special occasions, birthday parties or just a best friends' day out, she said.

Inside, the spa is decorated with a relaxing beach theme, complete with bistro tables and umbrellas.

The girls are pampered using products that are safe for children their age, Pavlovic said.

Once they're finished with their makeover, they can hold a dance party to celebrate on the spa's dance floor.

Since the business opened in Geneva Commons, she said, it has been very popular with customers.

"We've been really busy. Everyone seems to love it," she said. "I just love these little girls. They are so happy. They get their treatments and then they get to dance on our dance floor with disco lights, and they are just so happy and have the best time."

"It's just really cute," she said.
