STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Tara VanDerveer became just the second NCAA women's coach to reach 1,000 career victories Friday night, when No. 8 Stanford beat USC 58-42 to give the Hall of Famer a major milestone to share with the home crowd at Maples Pavilion.

VanDerveer joined the late Pat Summitt, a dear friend who died last summer from early-onset Alzheimer's disease with 1,098 wins to her name, as the only other women's coach in the elite club. Duke's Mike Krzyzewski is the only Division I men's coach with 1,000.

Karlie Samuelson made three second-half 3-pointers on the way to 21 points while Erica McCall added 18 points in Stanford's seventh straight victory, an unbeaten run that included last Sunday's win at Washington. Brittany McPhee contributed 10 points for the Cardinal (20-3, 10-1 Pac-12).

Kristen Simon led cold-shooting USC (12-10, 3-8) with 11 points.

No. 10 WASHINGTON 82, UTAH 53

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Kelsey Plum scored 24 points and handed out eight assists as Washington rolled over Utah.

The Huskies (21-3, 9-2 Pac-12) put the game away in the second quarter with a 21-10 period as they rode the elite duo of Plum and Chantel Osahor.

Utah (14-8, 3-8) had no answer for the nation's leading rebounder in Osahor, who flat-out dominated the paint and had a double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) at halftime. She finished with 19 points and 20 rebounds.

While Osahor controlled the paint, Plum, the nation's leading scorer, continued to own the perimeter. She knocked down 7 of 12 shots in the first half and sparked a 17-2 second-quarter run that buried the Utes.

Utah shot just 22.2 percent from the field in the second quarter.

Megan Jacobs led the Utes with 14 points, but Utah never made a run in the second half.

No. 11 OREGON STATE 54, No. 23 ARIZONA STATE 45

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Marie Gulich had 18 points and 10 rebounds, teammate Sydney Wiese added 16 points in her final "hometown" appearance as a collegian and Oregon State beat Arizona State to remain tied atop the Pac-12 standings.

The Beavers (21-2, 10-1 Pac-12) won their sixth in a row to remain tied with Stanford for the conference lead.

Quinn Dornstauder scored 17 for the Sun Devils (14-8, 5-6), who have lost four straight and five of their last six. She was the only Arizona State player in double figures.

Oregon State beat the Sun Devils for the fifth straight time, dating to the freshman season of Wiese, who grew up and was a high-school standout in nearby Phoenix.

CALIFORNIA 80, No. 13 UCLA 77

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Mi'Cole Cayton scored a career-high 18 points, Courtney Range had a double-double and Kristine Anigwe converted a 3-point play with 14 seconds left to help Cal beat UCLA to snap a two-game skid.

Range had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Mikayla Cowling scored 18 with six assists and Asha Thomas added 11 points and eight assists. Anigwe finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

Kennedy Burke hit a 3, and Jordin Canada scored the final five points, during an 11-2 run that pulled UCLA within two with 46 seconds left. Anigwe's 3-point play made it 80-75 before Nicole Cornet hit two free throws on the other end. After a miss by Cal (16-7, 4-7 Pac-12), Canada's potential tying 3 at the buzzer was off the mark.

Canada led the Bruins with 26 points and seven assists, Burke scored 17 and Monique Billings 16. UCLA (17-5, 8-3) had won six in a row.

No. 17 DEPAUL 54, ST. JOHN'S 51

CHICAGO (AP) - Brooke Schulte had a double-double to help No. 17 DePaul overcome its second-worst shooting performance of the season in a win over St. John's.

Schulte was 9-of-17 shooting, hit all three of DePaul's 3-pointers, scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The rest of the Blue Demons (19-5, 11-1 Big East) combined to shoot 17 percent and miss all of their 15 3s. Jacqui Grant fouled out with eight points and 10 boards.

St. John's (15-8, 7-5) led most of the first half and Akina Wellere's tipin pulled the Red Storm within one with 9:23 left in the third, but Schulte scored DePaul's first 12 points, including two 3-pointers, in a 16-2 run that made it 48-33 about five minutes later. The Blue Demons missed 15 of its last 17 from there and scored just four fourth-quarter points, but held for the win.

Jade Walker 13 points before fouling out and Imani Littleton scored 10 and grabbed 10 boards for St. John's, which had its three-game win streak snapped. It was Littlejohn's second consecutive, and third career, double-double.

The Blue Demons have won three in a row and 13 of their last 14.
