Spain: 4 people investigated over 'Phineas Fisher' hack
MADRID (AP) - A spokesman for Catalan police says four people are being formally investigated on suspicion of being part of a collective of "hacktivists" that broke into a police union and leaked its officers' data to the web.
The police force's announcement earlier this week that three people were in custody in relation to the breach sent a surge of speculation across the internet about the fate of Phineas Fisher, a Robin Hood-like figure who had previously claimed credit for the May 2016 incident.
In a statement published online Thursday, authorities said a fourth suspect had since turned himself in.
The statement made no mention of Phineas Fisher and a spokesman for the force, known locally as Mossos d'Esquadra, said it was too early to establish any connection to the notorious hacker.
