Naperville police release surveillance images of wallet thief

Naperville police are seeking the public's help to identify a woman suspected of stealing another woman's purse, then using the information and identification inside to steal money and make purchases.

Police on Monday released two surveillance photos of the woman suspected in the Jan. 13 case of theft of a wallet and unlawful use of a credit card. They say the suspect took the victim's purse while the victim was unloading things from her vehicle parked at All Saints Catholic Academy, 1155 Aurora Ave.

About a half-hour after the theft, police say the suspect withdrew $8,500 from the victim's bank account and used the victim's credit card to buy things at multiple stores in Wheaton.

Anyone who can identify the woman pictured, who witnessed the theft or who has information about it is asked to contact Naperville Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006 or napervillecrimestoppers.com. Callers may remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
