Discovery Church Pastor Dan Alarcon to lead Spiritual Enrichment Week Feb. 6-10

Dan Alarcon, lead pastor of Discovery Church in Elgin, will be the guest host during Judson's five-day Spiritual Enrichment Week on Monday-Friday, Feb. 6-10.

The chapel times on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will remain 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St. in Elgin.

The services for Tuesday and Thursday will be at 11 a.m., and some evening events have been planned, too. The chapel events are free and open to the public.

The purpose of the annual enrichment series is to re-energize the Judson community by publicly discussing topics that are relevant and real-to-life.

Prior to assuming the lead pastorate at Discovery in 2006, Alarcon served in youth ministries for more than a decade and promoted Christian concerts throughout the Midwest.

Alarcon is known for bringing passion and humor to his messages and having the ability to make the Bible understandable and Jesus real to a new generation. He continues to set the tone at Discovery, which is a growing, multicultural church noted for its cultural relevance, commitment to Biblical integrity and love for Jesus.

He and his wife, Laura, have been married for 10 years.
