Windy City Bulls acquire shooting guard Jarell Eddie

After claiming former Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Hollis Thompson off waivers, the Windy City Bulls shipped him to Austin in a trade for Spurs shooting guard Jarell Eddie, team officials announced Wednesday.

The deal between the NBA D-League clubs is pending the completion of physicals.

Eddie, a 6-foot-7, 220 pounder from Virginia Tech, is a standout 3-point shooter who has appeared in 25 games for the Austin Spurs this season averaging 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Last season he played in 26 games for the Washington Wizards.

Thompson, a 25-year-old 6-8, 206-pound SG/SF out of Georgetown, averaged 9.8 points in 77 games last season for the 76ers, who waived him earlier this month.

Eddie, 25, will be available when the Windy Bulls (9-14) return to Sears Centre Arena against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (15-9) at 7 p.m. Friday and against the Erie BayHawks (7-18) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
