Des Plaines History Center celebrates 50th anniversary

The Des Plaines History Center is observing its 50th year in 2017, and plans activities and events to celebrate this milestone anniversary. The first event of the year is a poster contest for children.

Des Plaines area residents and students who are in kindergarten through high school are invited to participate.

Children are asked to create their own poster using any media (watercolor, crayon, acrylic, pencils, markers, etc.) with the themes "Changes in Des Plaines" and/or "Pride in My City - Des Plaines " and submit their entries to the Des Plaines History Center by Wednesday, March 15. Winners will be announced April 3.

Contest categories include: Kindergarten-second grade, third-fifth grades, sixth-eighth grades and high school. Prizes supplied by Dick Blick Art Supply Company, Schaumburg.

Contest information rules are available on the History Center's website and at the History Center.
