A Hoffman Estates man is being held on $600,000 bail on charges that he dropped and shook a 7-month-old girl.
Daniel J. Bryant, 36, was charged with aggravated battery to a child.
According to court records, Bryant dropped the child from a height of two to three feet onto a hardwood floor and dropped the child into a crib from a height of about one to two feet on Jan. 12. Bryant also swung the child four times. The child suffered a subdural hematoma, or bleeding, on the right side of the brain and a slight subdural hematoma to the left side, court records show.
If convicted, Bryant faces up to 30 years in prison. He next appears in court on Feb. 2.
