Portis, Zipser will play for Windy City Bulls tonight
The Bulls will send forwards Bobby Portis and Paul Zipser to play for the D-League's Windy City Bulls tonight, coach Fred Hoiberg confirmed.
The Windy City Bulls host the Westchester Knicks at 7 p.m. at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.
Portis, the Bulls' first-round draft pick in 2015, fell out of the rotation in recent weeks as Hoiberg turned to Cristiano Felicio as the backup center. Portis has played a total of four minutes in the Bulls' last nine games.
Zipser, the Bulls' second-round draft pick last June, has played in one D-League game already this season, producing 13 points and 15 rebounds on Dec. 9. He's a 6-foot-8 forward from Germany who hasn't seen much action with the Bulls this season.
After a fast start, the Windy City Bulls (6-11) have struggled in recent games.
They just added Chicago native Will Bynum, a guard who spent eight seasons playing in the NBA, mostly with Detroit.
Windy City has two home games this weekend. They'll play Raptors 905 at the Sears Centre on Saturday while the Bulls host the Toronto Raptors at the United Center.
