Upstate hospitals to give Clemson apparel to newborns
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Clemson supporters say some of their members were born Tiger fans.
That could be literally true next week, as the Greenville Hospital System will offer Clemson apparel to babies born Monday, when the Tigers take on Alabama in a rematch for the College Football Championship.
The hospital system says it will give Tiger Paw onesies to newborns.
The hospital gave babies born New Year's Eve Clemson hats or bibs. Clemson beat Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31 to qualify for Monday night's championship.
Hospitals participating in the championship giveaway include Greenville Memorial, Greer Memorial, Laurens County Memorial, Oconee Memorial and Baptist Easley Hospital.
Between 20 and 30 babies are expected to be born at the hospitals Monday.
