Prospect cruises by Wheeling

Prospect kept a share of first place in the Mid-Suburban East boys basketball race by handling visiting Wheeling 50-26 on Friday.

The Knights (11-4, 3-1) managed to shut Wheeling out in the second quarter and took a 25-7 lead into halftime.

Prospect got a game-high 13 points from David Swedura and ended up shooting 12-for-17 from 2-point range. Frankie Mack finished with 9 points, and Michael Ritchie had 8.

The top scorer for Wheeling was Deshon Jacobs (10 points).

The Wildcats slipped to 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the MSL East.
