Barrington Hills park board race uncontested
Incumbent Maurine Crump and newcomer Jessica Underwood were the only candidates to file to run in the April 5 election for two open seats on the Barrington Hills Park District board.
Unless there is a write-in candidate, both will win election and serve 4-year terms.
The open spot on the board was created when Fred McMorris decided not to run for re-election.
The Barrington Hills Park District is run by the five-commissioner board which oversees the district's facilities, including the Riding Center at 361 Bateman Road. The Riding Center has an indoor area and stalls as well as 15 acres of land west of the Spring Lake Forest Preserve.
Last year, the district budgeted the spending of $489,935.
