Chicago critics give 'Moonlight' top prize at awards dinner
The Chicago Film Critics Thursday night named Barry Jenkins' daring, cutting-edge coming-of-age drama "Moonlight" best picture of 2016.
The drama, following one main character through three periods of his life, won three CFCA Awards, including best director and best supporting actor.
Kenneth Lonergan's "Manchester By the Sea" won the most awards with four, for best actor, supporting actress, original screenplay and most promising performer.
"La La Land" and "Jackie" got two wins.
The end-of-the-year awards were announced by members of the CFCA during an awards dinner at Zia's Lago Vista in Chicago.
