Incumbent Roach declared winner in judge election recount
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - A recount has declared incumbent Democrat John Roach the winner in the battle for Vigo Superior Court judge.
Raeanna Moore was the Republican challenger for the Division 1 post. The (Terre Haute) Tribune-Star reports (http://bit.ly/2gXek9W ) she trailed by 68 votes when the recount commission finished its work Wednesday.
Moore and Roach agreed on the results of machine ballots cast early and on Election Day.
But the recount was of absentee, mail-in absentee, travel board, military, overseas and provisional ballots.
The final count gave Roach 19,503 votes to Moore's 19,435. That's one-thousandth of 1 percent.
Roach picked up four votes from the Election Day count.
