Construction worker dies at suburban Chicago reservoir site
SUMMIT, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a construction worker has died at a suburban Chicago reservoir that's being built as part of a project to curb flooding and pollution.
Cook County medical examiner's office says 55-year-old Robert Ellison of Spring Grove was pronounced dead Monday afternoon at the McCook Reservoir worksite in Summit. Workplace safety officials are investigating along with police in Summit.
Circumstances of the worker's death weren't immediately released. An autopsy was planned Tuesday to determine cause of death.
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago says the reservoir is part of the Deep Tunnel project to improve flood control and prevent water pollution.
