Arlington Heights promotes cops, firefighters
Arlington Heights recently promoted five police and firefighters to positions within their departments.
Andrew Larson was promoted from fire department lieutenant to battalion chief; Christopher Rymut from firefighter/paramedic to fire lieutenant; Richard Sperando from police sergeant to commander; Andrew Blevins from police officer to sergeant; and Rick Sjodin from police officer to sergeant.
The promotions were announced at the Dec. 5 village board meeting, where Village President Tom Hayes swore in each person in front of family and friends. The ceremony tied the record for number of promotions at one village board meeting, Hayes said.
