The house of Madrid defender Raphael Varane has been robbed

MADRID (AP) - Spanish police say the house of Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane was robbed while he was playing a match.

Police say they are investigating the robbery, which took place in the Spanish capital.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday while Varane was playing for Madrid in its Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

Police say money and jewels were taken from Varane's residence.
