Hoffman Estates Redhawks win again, earn trip to national finals

The Hoffman Estates Redhawks youth football team won its national semifinal contest Tuesday, moving them one win away from an unprecedented third consecutive Pop Warner national title.

The team of junior high-aged players from Northwest suburbs including Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Elgin and Bartlett will play for the title at 1:15 p.m. Friday against the Riviera Beach (Florida) Chargers.

To get to the finals, the Redhawks edged the East Orange (New Jersey) Junior Jaguars by a score of 14-6 Monday afternoon. The games are being played in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney World.
