Indiana troopers seek information in unsolved slaying

SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police are asking the public for information as the fourth anniversary of an unsolved western Indiana slaying approaches.

Sgt. Joe Watts says 85-year-old retired farmer Lowell Badger was fatally shot Dec. 8, 2012, during a burglary of his Sullivan County home about 30 miles south of Terre Haute.

Watts says investigators have received more than 100 tips, but none have led to any arrests. As recently as late last month, divers have searched various bodies of water looking for items taken from Badger's home and evidence in the case, but none have been found.

Among the stolen items were a safe and a 46-inch LCD television.

A reward of $30,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
