Lake Zurich trustee resigning

Lake Zurich village board members Monday night will be asked to ratify Mayor Thomas Poynton's appointment to replace Trustee Dan Stanovich, whose resignation is effective Dec. 12 due to a planned move to Deer Park. Poynton has tabbed 20-year Lake Zurich resident Greg Weider, a member of the village's parks and recreation advisory board, to fill Stanovich's post until the term ends in April. Stanovich was elected in 2013. "While leaving is hard, I know Lake Zurich is definitely headed in the right direction under the mayor's leadership, support from the board, and based on the talent and professionalism of the village staff," Stanovich said.
