Arlington Heights police searching for vandals

Arlington Heights police are investigating a rash of vandalism that appears to be caused by someone with a BB gun, according to a community alert issued Wednesday afternoon.

The person or group has shattered windows and caused damage to parked cars at night seemingly at random.

Police recommend residents park their cars farther up their driveways or in their garages.

Anyone with information about the vandals should call Arlington Heights Crime Stoppers at (847) 590-STOP. Callers are guaranteed anonymity and may qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000. People can also send an anonymous tip by texting "847AHPD" followed by the tip to the number 847411.
