Lake County sheriff's office to hold police crisis intervention training
Lake County sheriff's office officials will provide a 40-hour crisis intervention team certification program for local police officers the week of Dec. 12-16. It'll be the fourth time this year the office hosts the program. The weeklong certification class will include classroom learning and scenario-based exercises. Topics to be covered include mental health signs and symptoms, geriatric issues and returning combat veterans. Police departments can sign up by contacting the Lake County Sheriff's Office Training Division at (847) 377-4262.
