Santa Cause fundraiser in Mundelein Dec. 2

The 19th annual Santa Cause benefiting youngsters across Lake County will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Village Green Golf Course's clubhouse, Midlothian and Winchester roads in Mundelein.

It's a free-to-attend fundraiser featuring raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Money raised this year will go toward Head Start classrooms in Gurnee, North Chicago, Waukegan and the Paul Kennedy Child Center at the James Lovell Veterans Affairs Medical Center, also in North Chicago. About 225 low-income children ages 3 through 5 will receive holiday gifts and clothing from the fundraiser.

Santa Cause volunteers begin in October coordinating with Head Start teachers to get lists of boys and girls for gifts and clothes.
